Fat pets

Charlie,

It’s bad enough we overfeed ourselves during the holidays, but we shamelessly overfeed our pets during the holidays as well. Please let me know if we can set up a time to chat about the following story with these resources.

The obesity epidemic is well-documented for humans. But there’s also plenty of evidence that pet obesity is running rampant, too. Experts at FlexPet point to data that shows more pets deal with obesity problems during the holidays because, sadly, we humans want our animals to partake in the seasonal food-stuffing party. I’ve lined up a few important sources for you to consider for a well-rounded (no pun) story on pet obesity during the holidays:

1) Mr. Tamer Elsafy is the creator of FlexPet, a national pet nutrition company offering dietary products to alleviate joint discomfort and increase flexibility for important pet exercise. The company has new data that shows pets are over-fed during the holidays and succumb to obesity that leads to painful bouts of joint discomfort.

2) Betsy Banks Saul is the CEO of PetFinder.com, an animal welfare organization that offers education and adoption services for millions of pets and their families. Betsy can talk about important training videos and literature used to help minimize pet obesity during the holidays.

3) Holistic veterinarian, Jean Hofve, DVM, is internationally known for her expertise on pet food and nutrition. Dr. Hofve is also a published author on animal dietary subjects.

4) Sandy Duvall is the CEO of TheShabbyDog.com, a pet fitness company that produces the new Pupercise, an innovative way to enjoy exercising with your dog.

In addition to these sources I can also work to identify people who’ve implemented important dietary measures for their pets and animals so as to avoid the holiday stuffing trap.

Please let me know if we can set up a time to chat and coordinate interviews for an important seasonal story.

Regards,

Tate Dugan
